Lumenis Aura PT

The Aura® PT™ Ophthalmic YAG Photodisruptor Laser System represents the latest YAG product offering from Lumenis – the market leader in ophthalmic laser technologies.

The preferred product for anterior-segment procedures such as laser iridotomy and capsulotomy, the Aura PT includes advanced specifications which make treatment fast and accurate for superior patient care.

Designed to be safe and easy to use, the Aura PT is the result of years of engineering and manufacturing expertise. The Aura’s advanced features – a 16 degree cone angle, precision optics, adjustable posterior & anterior offset, high repetition rate and variable burst modes – allow you to perform capsulotomies on all types of intraocular lenses (IOL) with significantly lower risk of lens pitting. In addition, the superior laser cavity design enables more efficient tissue cutting at lower power and with fewer shots.

The Aura PT was designed with the busy, multi-physician practice, surgery center and outpatient clinic in mind. It truly offers ophthalmologists a YAG photodisruptor that is exceptionally robust and affordably priced.

Advanced Adjustable Offset

The Lumenis Aura PT features two defocus positions that can easily be changed with a roll of your finger, allowing for easy and safe focus correction exactly in front of, behind or precisely at the plasma break point.

With an adjustable laser focal point of up to 500 μm anterior or posterior to the aiming beam, the Aura PT offers the industry’s highest flexibility rate. This allows ophthalmologists to treat patients on a case-by-case basis with more accuracy, precision and safety than even before.

Such flexibility allows customization of the procedure based on each patient’s IOL type and the type of the treatment performed. This significantly reduces the risk of lens damage when treating anterior or posterior to the IOL or faster and safer results when performing iridotomy.

Optimal Energy Placement

The Aura’s beam profile, laser cavity design and precision optics ensure low-energy plasma formation and minimal trauma to the eye. The unit’s sophisticated focusing system ensures superior accuracy in energy placement when firing the laser, resulting in a gentler and highly-accurate outcome.

Enhanced Slit Lamp Optics

Advanced precision optics offer maximum visibility for more precise diagnosis and treatment. The Lumenis Converging Optical System – specifically designed for anterior segment procedures – ensures clearer visualization and greater comfort for the treating physician, even during extended procedures.

Improved Design

The Aura’s compact and lightweight design optimizes the physician’s working space, without compromising on the patient’s comfort. A user-friendly control panel offers ready access to all operations and facilitates easy control over all system parameters. The ergonomically designed joystick with EZgrip™ coating provides you with full control of the device while fitting comfortably in your hand. The unit is operated through a laser-fire switch, conveniently integrated into the controlling joystick.

Lumenis Selecta Trio Yag/SLT/532 Tri Laser System

The Lumenis Selecta Trio represents the next generation of multi-modality products, offering retinal, cataract and advanced glaucoma therapies in a single platform. The unit’s integrated design, enhanced optics system and advanced laser cavity make the Trio one of the highest performing laser products in the market – offering maximum flexibility with minimum footprint.

The Selecta Trio has all of the advantages of the Selecta Duet in SLT and YAG modes – along with proprietary advantages in photocoagulation mode.

Advantages:

  • Homogeneous Laser Beam
  • The advanced optics and laser delivery technology features uniform energy distribution across the entire laser spot area for more precise and safer treatment. The result is a homogenous laser spot with evenly distributed power across the full area of the spot, eliminating the potential risk for the formation of “hot spots”.
  • Dual Fiber Port
  • Instantly switch between delivery devices
  • Changing delivery devices is fast and easy. The Novus Spectra automatically senses the delivery devices connected to it. Laser parameters are adjusted internally to compensate for the chosen delivery device to maintain selected power density on the target tissue.

Optimized view of treatment site

  • The Lumenis ClearView™ filters’ photopic balanced coating eliminates color distortion of the treatment site while optimizing white light transmission or “brightness” of the physician’s view.
  • A proprietary coating protects the filter from environmental changes and scratches.
  • Accurate and safe laser beam guidance for fine-tuned laser application on target tissue.
  • Integrated LaserLink Cradle
  • Safely and conveniently stow the LaserLink in its dedicated cradle when not using the laser in photocoagulation mode.
  • Sharply defined and evenly distributed power on the retina; safe & low-power density at the cornea and the lens.  The unique and patented SureSpot optics technology from Lumenis ensures that the focal point of the laser beam is maintained on the retina while power density on the cornea and lens is minimized for increased safety.

(Laser Locators is a trusted reseller of Lumenis equipment.)

Lumenis Vision began in 1970 with the introduction of the first laser photocoagulator to ophthalmology. Since then, Lumenis has focused on their mission of preserving and improving the sight of patients around the world. They have long advanced the field of ophthalmology with many firsts in ophthalmic equipment.

Lumenis pioneered the first argon laser photocoagulator, was the first approved marketer of Yag photodisruptor lasers, developed and launched multicolor photocoagulation with the world’s first Laser Indirect Ophthalmoscope (LIO), as well as developed and launched SLT.

Glaucoma

The deterioration of vision across the world is evident with more than 50 million people at risk of open angle glaucoma. Many practices now regularly handle glaucoma patients and Lumenis offers several ophthalmic laser systems to help lower intraocular pressure (IOP) and control this degenerative disease.

The Lumenis glaucoma laser systems use Selective Laser Trabesculoplasty (SLT), which has the benefits of Argon Laser Trabeculoplasty (ALT) without the potential coagulative damage that could lead to scarring. Ophthalmic laser systems for use with glaucoma include the Selecta Duet and Selecta II Laser System.

Retinal

Retinal diseases are varied in type but laser treatments often work well on the retina. This allows for a wide array of options when selecting a laser for your practice. The Lumenis family of ophthalmic lasers provide versatile treatment options and optimize the therapeutic effect for patients. Lumenis offers several ophthalmic lasers for sophisticated retinal surgeries such as the Selecta Trio Yag/SLT/532 Tri Laser System and the Varia Tri Laser System (Red/Yellow/Green).
