AMO Visx Wavescan Wavefront Aberrometer

The AMO WaveScan WaveFront™ System leads the industry for outstanding wavefront achievement and analytic capabilities. AMO Intralase FS60 Model II 60hz Femtosecond Laser System

The IntraLase FS laser differs from other blade-based technologies in many essential ways. By replacing the blade commonly used for corneal flap creation with a femtosecond laser, AMO® has made LASIK eye surgery safer than ever before. The IntraLase FS laser is the first blade-less and most precise modality for corneal flap creation available today. It delivers micron-level accuracy 100 percent greater than a microkeratome for a more accurate and consistent flap thickness. This is critical for a successful LASIK outcome. When used during LASIK, the IntraLase FS laser replaces the handheld microkeratome blade traditionally used during surgery.

Retrospective analysis comparing LASIK results with IntraLase™ FS Technology versus the two leading microkeratomes demonstrated that, IntraLase™ FS Laser System performed better in three areas important to LASIK results and safety:

  1. Flap thickness,
  2. Induced astigmatism, and
  3. Cell injury.

Johnson & Johnson Intralase IFS 150hz Femtosecond Laser System

AMO’s latest-generation Intralase femtosecond laser (iFS) gained FDA approval in 2008. This is the latest model, iFS, and it features a repetition rate of 150 kHz and can create a LASIK flap in less than 10 seconds. This is one of the fastest femtosecond lasers on the market. The iFS Laser System delivers micron-level accuracy 100% greater than a microkeratome for more accurate and consistent flap thickness, which is instrumental for a successful LASIK outcome. The Intralase has revolutionized the safety, reliability, precision, and predictability of LASIK surgery to unprecedented levels.

The IntraLase laser creates a distinctive beveled-edge flap, which allows for precise repositioning, alignment, and seating after the LASIK procedure is completed. This feature helps reduce the risk of flap displacement, a complication seen with microkeratome flaps.

The VISX STAR’s platform of dependability and performance is well known. The STAR S4 Iris Registration (IR) from VISX has taken that reputation to the next level. Integrating data collected by the WaveScan WaveFront System, the STAR S4 IR utilizes these exclusive VISX technologies to deliver precision custom ablations. The S4 with IR is the latest excimer laser system offered by AMO, and represents the most advanced laser technology available today.

Features include:

  • IR: The first FDA-approved, fully automated, non-contact method of alignment of the correct CustomVue treatment to the corneal site.
  • Variable Spot Scanning (VSS): Adjustable beam sizes from as small as 0.65 mm up to 6.5 mm scanned over the treatment area, conserving tissue, and optimizing treatment times.
