AMO Optimedica Catalys

The CATALYS® Precision Laser System is indicated for use in patients undergoing cataract surgery for removal of the crystalline lens. Intended uses in cataract surgery include anterior capsulotomy, phacofragmentation, and the creation of single plane and multi-plane arc cuts/incisions in the cornea, each of which may be performed either individually or consecutively during the same procedure.

Femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery offers a reproducible, noninvasive technique to replace the least predictable and most technically demanding steps of conventional cataract procedures.

Designed for Laser Cataract Surgery

Designed specifically for laser cataract surgery, the CATALYS® System offers:

  • LIQUID OPTICS Interface, gentle docking with minimal intraocular pressure rise and clear optics for excellent imaging and laser delivery
  • INTEGRAL GUIDANCE System – proprietary 3D Full Volume Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and automated surface mapping algorithms that guide laser delivery
  • Precise capsulotomies within 30µm
  • Complete segmentation and softening of the cataract with adjustable grid sizing
  • Multiple corneal incision centration options that are based on anatomical landmarks

The SOVEREIGN COMPACT Cataract Extraction System is an AC-powered device with a fragmenting needle intended for use in cataract surgery to disrupt a cataract with ultrasound and extract the cataract.

The SOVEREIGN Compact System is a full-featured system in an affordable, space-saving package that ensures chamber stability through advanced digital fluidics. Designed for ease of use, efficiency and reliability, the SOVEREIGN Compact system offers a total approach to lens extraction technology.

AMO Visx Wavescan Wavefront Aberrometer

The AMO WaveScan WaveFront™ System leads the industry for outstanding wavefront achievement and analytic capabilities. Using AMO Fourier algorithms, WaveScan captures the unique imperfections of each patient’s eye using 100 percent of the available Hartmann-Shack data points for more accurate wavefront error reconstruction. Fast and powerful, the WaveScan System delivers unprecedented measurement accuracy by enhancing the precision of the Advanced CustomVue™ procedure.

The system provides the highest resolution available for any shape pupil (up to 7 mm); enabling precise, individualized treatment for the broadest range of visual imperfections.

Additional Benefits include:

  • Personalizes the Advanced CustomVue™ treatment for each patient according to the unique characteristics of his/her eyes.
  • Allows you to link diagnostic information to laser treatment.
  • Advanced features like off-line programming and auto exam selection improves workflow efficiency.

AMO Intralase Model II Femtosecond FS Laser 60Hz

The IntraLase FS laser differs from other blade-based technologies in many essential ways. By replacing the blade commonly used for corneal flap creation with a femtosecond laser, AMO® has made LASIK eye surgery safer than ever before. The IntraLase FS laser is the first blade-less and most precise modality for corneal flap creation available today. It delivers micron-level accuracy 100 percent greater than a microkeratome for a more accurate and consistent flap thickness. This is critical for a successful LASIK outcome. When used during LASIK, the IntraLase FS laser replaces the handheld microkeratome blade traditionally used during surgery.

Retrospective analysis comparing LASIK results with IntraLase™ FS Technology versus the two leading microkeratomes demonstrated that, IntraLase™ FS Laser System performed better in three areas important to LASIK results and safety:

  1. Flap thickness,
  2. Induced astigmatism, and
  3. Cell injury.

This method is so highly sought after that it used for military pilots and astronauts, who are in need of the clearest, most accurate vision possible.

There are fewer flap-related complications with the IntraLase Method:*

  • Low risk of sight-threatening events (free caps, globe penetration, buttonhole flaps, decentered flaps, and/or incomplete cuts)
  • No risk of corneal abrasion
  • Lowered risk of dry eye

*Only the IntraLase™ FS Laser System can be used to perform the IntraLase Method.
