Computer Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Computer Technician to join our team at Laser Locators. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide top-notch customer service. As a Computer Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining computer systems, hardware, and software to ensure optimal performance. The computers are used to run various types of medical equipment within the field of ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and other computer systems.
  • Perform repairs on computer hardware, including replacing defective components.
  • Install, configure, and update software and operating systems.
  • Set up and maintain network connections, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users, both remotely and on-site.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals and departments to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Computer Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, older Windows Operating systems from XP to Windows 11 and anything in between, and software applications.
  • Familiarity with network configurations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Familiarity with older hardware and PC parts is a plus.
